Road Warriors make moves
While everyone's focus in the Atlantic League is being directed towards Jose Offerman and his actions in Bridgeport, the Road Warriors made a few transactions today, one with the Long Island Ducks. Estee Harris was again claimed by the Long Island Ducks, making his 2nd stint with them this season. Harris hit .227 with 6 HRs and 27 RBIs in 53 games, in 2 stints with the Road Warriors this year. The Road Warriors also released RHP Trevor Marcotte who was in his second season with the Warriors. Marcotte was 4-4 with an ERA of 7.67 in 20 games, including 5 starts. Marcotte was mainly used as a long relief pitcher and with the emergance of Chris Eickhorst in that role lately, Marcotte moved into a middle relief role. The Warriors then signed RHP Kieran Mattison. Mattison went to spring training with the Grays, the Can-Am League's version of the Road Warriors, however he was released before the season began. Mattison, an East Carolina alum, reached the AAA level in 2005 in the Indians organization but was later released. In 2006 he pitched for Sioux City of the American Association and Calgary of the Northern League.
