'Stormers hammer road dogs
A Jutt Hileman grand slam put the coffin in a 7 run 2nd inning for the Lancaster Barnstormers, on their way to a 9-1 win over the Road Warriors. After an easy first inning, Road Warrior starting pitcher, Charlie Hesseltine, lost control of everything as he gave up 4 hits and 3 walks in the second frame. Chris Eickhorst relieved Hesseltine and pitched 4.1 solid innings, giving up only 1 run on 2 hits. Kevin Mannix pitched the last 2 innings for the Warriors. Offensively, the Warriors were handcuffed by southpaw Zack Parker, as he made his first start for Lancaster. Parker pitched 5 innings, giving up only 1 run, a solo shot to Steve Doetsch. The home run was Doetsch's 17th of the season, as he closes in on Dario Delgado's record of 22 in a Road Warrior uniform. DH Omar Garcia added 2 hits for the Road Warriors.
